Основная идея и принцип работы заключаются в следующем: вначале пользователь создает эталонное изображение своих отпечатков пальцев, а затем, когда нужно войти в систему под своей учетной записью или получить доступ к защищенной информации он проводит пальцем по специальному считывающему устройству, которое создает рисунок папиллярного узора и сравнивает его с изображением в базе. Если они совпадают, программа дает пользователю доступ, в противном случае в доступе будет отказано.

Папиллярный рисунок уникален для каждого человека, и с течением жизни он не сам по себе не меняется, но всегда есть шанс получить механические повреждения, порезаться или обжечься, в этом случае программа может не опознать пользователя. Для того чтобы этого избежать рекомендуется зарегистрировать два-три пальца, на случай, если папиллярный узор одного из них окажется поврежденным.

Validity WBF DDK — что это за программа и нужна ли она? (valWBFPolicyService.exe, SensorDBSynch.exe)

Приветствую. Validity WBF DDK — программа, предположительно обеспечивающая доступ к ноутбуку по отпечатку пальца.

В интернете информации попросту нет.

Возможно работает под процессом valWBFPolicyService.exe или SensorDBSynch.exe:

C:\Program Files\Validity Sensors

Нашел похожую программу — Synaptics WBF DDK 5011, слово Synaptics часто можно встретить в описании железа ноутбука. Например в названии тачпадов часто упоминается слово Synaptics. И вообще — Synaptics — фирма или производитель софта.

Данную программу например можно заметить на ноутбуке HP EliteBook 1040 G1, может быть еще одна программа — Synaptics WBF fingerprint reader.

WBF расшифровывается как Windows Biometric Framework.

Мои мысли про Validity WBF DDK

1. Скорее всего относится именно к датчику распознавания отпечатков пальцев.
2. Вероятно фирменное ПО для работы датчика. На разных моделях ноутбуков название может отличаться, но в нем будет упоминаться WBF DDK.
3. Не исключено что это не только программа, но и драйвера.
4. В диспетчере устройств также может быть устройство, в названии которого упоминается WBF DDK.

Датчик в диспетчере устройств:

Обратите внимание — датчик находится в группе Biometric Devices, это точно датчик отпечатков. Свойства датчика:

winusb.sys, WUDFRd.sys — эти файлы обеспечивают работу драйвера, собственно без них датчик работать не будет. Если удалить программу — то драйвера скорее всего тоже будут удалены.

Удаление

Если на вашем ноутбуке есть датчик отпечатков пальца и данная программа — то вероятно программа отвечает именно за работу датчика. Но если вы им не пользуетесь — можно удалить. На всякий случай — создайте точку восстановления.

1. Зажмите Win + R, укажите команду appwiz.cpl, нажмите ОК.
2. Откроется окно со списком софта. Найдите Validity WBF DDK, нажмите правой кнопкой, выберите Удалить.
3. Появится мастер удаления. Следуйте инструкциям/подсказкам. В конце возможно потребуется перезагрузка.

Вывод

Точно неизвестно, но скорее всего Validity WBF DDK — это для отпечатков пальцев.

I haven’t really tried any alternative. Simple pass was preinstalled in windows 8.1 and i continue to use it even after windows 10 upgrade.

You might need select a model number from a list before you can access the support page for your product. If so, select your model number from the list.

Select your language and operating system from the drop-down menus under Select driver language and OS.

Choose to download the Validity Fingerprint Sensor driver or HP SimplePass application, as needed:

Click Download, and then click Save to save the file to a convenient location on your hard drive, such as the desktop on the computer.

One thing that can cause an issue is the finger reader is dirty. For this, choosing another tab/windows of broswer I don’t know if the latter problem is and then returning to that tab/window resumes it.

Thank you Navneet Anand! Although all of what you have suggested was tried by me earlier. Everything like deleting, reinstalling, picking up driver, compatibility and rest but it didn’t work. Just want to clarify, initially I upgraded windows 7 professional to windows 10 pro after that I did refresh this PC. Still Microsoft or HP driver was not working. Few days back I had to do clean install of Windows 10 from USB (sorry for mistake in question) and after installing all necessary windows updates along with fingerprint driver provided by Microsoft, it is working like a charm! I could use Windows Hello feature now.

Although I am not sure why it didn’t work earlier? Is it because windows 10 still does not handle driver installations properly, I am not sure. Anyway thanks for looking into this.

Ryuzai_L, when you say you did a clean install, do you mean to a fully formatted drive starting from the ground up? I had the same problem and also rolled back to Windows 7 in order to get my fingerprint reader to work.

And after necessary windows updates fingerprint reader started working the way it should! I have not tried installing any HP driver for fingerprint reader afterwards. I do not want to take any chances, you see! One thing peculiar I noticed about windows 10 is your hardware works fine if you install it clean not just upgrade and let Microsoft decide drivers through windows update. Just to make sure, I observed same thing worked on DV6-3043TX!

validity sensors (wbf) vfs301, the new driver does not work

validity fingerprint sensor (wbf) vfs301 works fine in this bunch of hplite32_build_ 6.0.100.252 + http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56501-57000/sp56957.exe (driver version 4.3.304.0 under vindovs7) but when http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58501-59000/sp58900.exe (driver version 4.4.234.00 under vindovs8) get code 10 device cannot be started.
both versions in the archive have a folder containing the driver for my wbf_301_drv equipment, with the sp58900.exe package (driver version 4.4.234.00) even sets a new validity wbf ddk, but the driver version 4.4.234.00 does not want to work.

When you put the http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56501-57000/sp56957.exe driver (version 4.3.304.0 driver), the runs even with the software of the validity of a new version of the ddk wbf 4.4.234.00, a young driver and later software.

From what im seeing HERE HP has no drivers for windows 8 on this model.

Looks to me this notebook isn’t supported yet.

You can go HERE and find out if they’re testing the notebook or not.

Also, THIS might help you out trying to upgrade to 8.

Now to answer your question about the drivers.

Looks like 1 drivers is for windows 7 and the other is for 8.

For the windows 8 drivers, like i said above they haven’t been released so where ever these drivers came from this could be giving you the issue.

Until the drivers are available on the HP website i would stick with the drivers that are working for you.

It is a pity that HP does not care about the continued support of its products and does not support in the future and therefore have to look for the driver in direct developers, such as intel, NVIDIA, Realtek, and others.
And thank God that the developers of equipment and support equipment issued to its OEM partners.
And now I have a perfectly working windose 8 x64 and all the equipment, but so far HP has not tested a lot of laptops with the new OS, shame
