How to Uninstall V-Ray
This page provides information on how to uninstall V-Ray using the included V-Ray uninstaller.
Overview
The V-Ray installer automatically uninstalls any previous versions before installing a newer version. If you need to manually uninstall V-Ray, please make sure that 3ds Max or V-Ray components are not being used. For silent uninstallation, see the Silent Install and Uninstall page.
Uninstalling V-Ray
The Uninstaller originally resides in the following location — C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\3dsmax 20xx\uninstall
To access the V-Ray uninstaller from the Start menu, search for Uninstall V-Ray 3ds Max 20xx.
This starts the V-Ray uninstaller. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove V-Ray from your system and restore any files overwritten by the installation.
Leftover Files
After the uninstall is complete, there may be some leftover files that you need to delete. Please check if the following files and folders are present and delete them:
For V-Ray 5.0: C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\3ds Мax 20xx
Start Menu Shortcut Locations:
For V-Ray 5.0: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ V-Ray 5 for 3ds Max 20xx
Start Menu Shortcut Locations:
For V-Ray 6.0: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\V-Ray 6 for 3ds Max 20xx
For 3ds Max 2022 (and later) users, also check the following location for any leftover files — C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\

Удалить V-Ray
реестры нужно чистить по-любому. И то нет вероятности что всё снесёшь. Как-то у мну откуда ни возьмись, ещё на восьмом то ли девятом маске появился давно удалённый файл max start UI — ну этот, в котором информация о цветах фреймов, менюшек. Появился после сноса макса и форматирования диска, месяца два-три прошло. Как-то запускаю макс — а цветовая схема старая!
Где он прятался всё это время — так я и не понял.
А уж после проги R-Studio я вообще стал верить, что информация, однажды записанная на диск — никогда никуда с него не пропадёт.

всегда пользовалась 7-м максом и Vray v1.47.03 . решила перейти на 1.50 . удалила все от прежнего вирея.. но 1.5 не устанавливается. выползают ошибки.. 7-й макс видимо не видит 1.50 vray.
установила 8-й макс.. установила 1.5.. но все равно текущий рендер 1.47.
подскажите. как правильно удалить vray. хочу уже 1.50!!!

Удали сначала через Add/Remove Programs, потом, если останется, удали папку Autodesk\3dsMax8\plugins\vrayplugins .
И файлы из папки, где установлен макс, в названии которых встречается "vray". Например: vray60.dll, vrayspawner60.exe, vraydummy60.max (или как там они, для 1,47 назывались. )

Overview
V-Ray installer will automatically uninstall any previous versions. If you need to manually uninstall V-Ray, make sure that Nuke or V-Ray components are not being used.
Windows
Uninstalling the Plug-In
Go to Windows Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features or Start > All Programs > Chaos Group > V-Ray for Nuke x for x64 > Uninstall V-Ray for Nuke
This will start the V-Ray uninstaller. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove V-Ray from your system and restore any files overwritten by the installation.
After the uninstall is complete there may be some leftover files that you need to delete.
Please check if present and delete the following files and folders:
C:\Program Files\Nukex\plugins\vray
C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\Nuke x for x64
Uninstalling the License Server
To remove the V-Ray license server, either use the Add/Remove Programs applet from the Control Panel , or select Start menu > All Programs > Chaos Group > V-Ray license server > Uninstall V-Ray license server .
Linux
Uninstalling the Plug-In
To uninstall V-Ray for Nuke, start with root permissions the uninstall er program, which is normally located in the /usr/ChaosGroup/V-Ray/Nuke x -x64/uninstall/ directory, for example:
$ su
$ /usr/ChaosGroup/V-Ray/Nukex-x64/uninstall/uninstaller_chaos
follow the instructions of the uninstaller
$ exit
Note: The uninstaller will not remove the V-Ray license configuration files or any other files that you have modified manually after the installation.
You may need to manually delete the folders:
/usr/Foundry/Nukex-x64/plugins/vray/
/usr/ChaosGroup/V-Ray/Nukex-x64/
Uninstalling the License Server
To uninstall the V-Ray license server on Linux, start with root permissions the uninstall_chaos program, which is normally located in the /usr/ChaosGroup/VRLService/uninstall directory:
$ su
$ /usr/ChaosGroup/VRLService/uninstall/uninstaller_chaos
follow the instructions of the uninstaller
$ exit
Note: The uninstaller will not remove the V-Ray license configuration files or any other files that you have modified manually after the installation.
