Viva Learning делает возможности обучения и профессионального развития более открытыми и доступными в процессе работы. Она объединяет все учебные ресурсы, доступные для компании, в одном месте, включая контент от Microsoft Learn, курсы от сторонних провайдеров, включая Skillsoft, Coursera, Pluralsight и edX, а также собственную библиотеку контента организации.
Viva Topics представляет собой инструмент, дающий возможность удобно находить необходимую информацию и связаться с экспертами по всей компании. I’m sure you’ve received an email out of nowhere regarding a digest or briefing from Microsoft Viva. If you find them annoying, like most people do, it’s alright because today we’re going to walk through the steps on how to turn off Microsoft Viva briefing email.

Requirements
As far as requirements go, you’ll need proper permissions to be able to disable this. This means that a Global Administrator is best suited to do this since it will be impacting the entire tenant.
What Is Microsoft Viva
Microsoft describes Viva as an employee experience platform that brings together communications, knowledge, learning, resources, and insights in the flow of work. While that may be true, in my personal experience I’ve only ever received briefing and insight emails that tend to clutter my inbox without any real benefit.
Here’s an example of one I received not too long ago.
How To Turn Off Microsoft Viva Briefing and Digest Emails
Moving on, in order to disable Microsoft Viva briefing email, let’s head on to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center since that is where the work is going to take place.
In Microsoft Admin Center:
- Click Settings ->Org Settings ->Services
- Select Briefing email from Microsoft
- Next, uncheck Let people in your organization receive Briefing email
- Click Save
Next up, we’ll want to disable those digest emails that you receive on a regular basis as well.
Within the same Microsoft Admin portal:
- Click Settings ->Org Settings ->Services
- Select Microsoft Viva Insights
- Uncheck Digest email and insights Outlook add-in

HA sorry Berend that isn’t completely accurate either. I have repeatedly tried unsubscribing from the blasted viva emails and no such luck. That was my first try. Like a bad penny they just keep showing up. Today I decided to search the web for answers and came upon this post. The details are useful and while yes it pertains to overall org deselection it does provide insight and useful knowledge on the useless microsoft communication features.
When I look for a way to turn off Microsoft Viva e-mails as an individual Outlook user, I find this page. The explanation is not applicable to me as an individual user. As there are much more individual users than organization admins, I consider the explanation *incorrect*. The correct explanation for me as an individual user (surprisingly difficult to find) would be:
Users can individually opt out by selecting the Unsubscribe link at the end of the Briefing email.
This should at least be mentioned in the introduction paragraph.

You didn’t make any changes in the Microsoft tenant, and it shows up in their inbox. Why is that? That’s because the Briefing email is on by default in the Microsoft 365 tenant. In this article, we will show how to turn off Microsoft Viva daily briefing.

How to turn off Microsoft Viva daily briefing
There are a couple of ways to turn off Microsoft Viva daily briefing:
- Use PowerShell to enable/disable the Briefing email for individual users
- Set the default opt-in or opt-out option at the tenant level in the Microsoft 365 admin center
- Users can individually opt-out by selecting the Unsubscribe link at the end of the Briefing email
Let’s look at how to stop briefing emails for the entire organization at the tenant level.
Turn off Microsoft Viva in tenant
To turn off Microsoft Via daily briefing, follow these steps:
- Sign in to Microsoft 365 admin center
- Expand Settings in the left pane
- Choose Org settings in the submenu
- Click on Services in the top bar
- Choose Briefing email from Microsoft Viva from the list
- Uncheck the box Let people in your organization receive Briefing email
- Click Save
You successfully turned off Microsoft Viva emails.

I was not able to disble it and so I set up a rule to move it to junk.
I have unsubscribed. It worked for a few days, but is now dropping in to my Inbox. What is very surprising to me is what on earth Microsoft think they can give as a daily ‘briefing’ to a very disparate user base. Purely alienating and demonstrates how Microsoft does not understand its users.
I tried the unsubscribe, the response was “This action cannot be completed.” Really, Microsoft?
Thank you for this article. We try to teach our users to be suspicious of unknown, unsolicited emails and not click on the links in them. Then MS starts sending this useless spam without opting in.

Microsoft showing this message after I’m trying to uncheck “let people in your organization receive Briefing email.” I did it more than 10 times and the same message.
We also tried this, but keep getting the message that settings weren’t able to be saved. Please wait for a few minutes and try again. Tried it for several days, but not working.
I can confirm that this is happening at the moment in my Microsoft 365 tenants. I already talked to Microsoft about it. Just wait, and they will fix it, and then you can disable the Microsoft Viva briefing email.
Update March 14, 2022: Microsoft fixed it, and I can confirm that in my tenants.
Microsoft REALLY wants us to receive these emails, to the point that it is suspicious. I have tried to block it, marking it has junk, I have used the Ignore button. (All this because I don’t usually use unsubscribe as some devious organizations use that to prove that you exist). Went to the Admin Center to turn off for the entire organization – it will not SAVE my changes. It will accept my feedback. I have tried the unsubscribe in the email. Will see if this works or if I will have an email tomorrow morning.
